Rene moved to Columbus
from Northern Virginia, where he owned
an outpatient physical therapy practice.
He graduated from Old Dominion
University 1993 with a Masters Degree in
Physical Therapy.
Since graduating from
ODU he has been refining his skills by
continuing his education with the
University of Saint Augustine (USA).
Rene has also been teaching physical
therapists across the country, a
treatment technique he helped develop called Functional
Manual Therapy. This is an
orthopedic based treatment system geared
to promote optimal neuromuscular health.
Over the last 13 years
Rene has had the privilege of learning
from some of the country’s most notable
therapists. His drive for education and
experience are fueled by his desire to
give only the best care to his patients.

Functional Manual Therapy
Functional Manual Therapy (FMT)
was developed by senior Physical Therapist
Alas Weismantel who incorporated 40 years
of experience working with patients, into a
revolutionary treatment and evaluation
system. That system, FMT, uses the best
manual treatment techniques for each area of
the body and uses them with an evaluation
system that finds key areas of the body that
are out of balance. Once the key areas are
identified the balance can be restored.

Laying it down simple:Think of a
foundation of a house with a loose brick. That loose
brick causes strain on the frame of the house. The frame
begins to fail and you see cracks in the plaster. Do you fix
the plaster, the frame, or the brick, first? Once the brick
is fixed then the stress is off the frame and the plaster
stops cracking.
For you this means your brick is finally
identified. Once the dysfunction is found, you will need
manual therapy and/or and exercise program developed to
