Shirley Stevens
Personal Trainer, Aerobics Instructor
Growing up with a Mexican mother and Irish father who were
both excellent cooks, I ate my fill of enchiladas and beef
stew. Still, I was able to stay slim through being
active in drill team, cheerleading, dance, and aerobics
classes.
At 26, I was married and became pregnant with my son.
I stopped exercising and didn't watch my meal portions, I
was happily eating for two after all. I gained 35
pounds and I didn't lose all the extra pounds like I thought
I would after I gave birth. I became very depressed
about the way I looked and how much I weighed.
I finally made a decision to make some life changes. I took
a holistic approach to my health, focusing on physical,
spiritual, mental and emotional changes.
The physical plan incorporated a healthy balanced organic
diet and sound exercise program. The spiritual, mental and
emotional plan included finding my purpose in life and
realizing I was created for a reason and created to
accomplish great things. My relationship with God makes
everyday worth living.
Through my program I was able to achieve my fitness goals,
lose the weight I wanted, have more energy for my two
children,
now, teenagers, and I did it with a positive attitude. I was
so inspired by my success that I decided to become a
personal trainer and aerobics instructor, so I could help
others achieve their fitness goals through a safe and
enjoyable program. |
