'No More
Excuses'
Having played the role as the overweight
victim for much of my past, I more than
anyone used to be the master of finding
excuses to avoid exercise dieting (not
having enough time within the day, too tired
to workout, ashamed to workout in public,
etc). More often than not, with each day
that passed by, I felt as if I were digging
a bigger hole for myself...until finally I
felt as if I were so far down I would never
be able to get back up again...sound
familiar?!?!
Whether it was from seeing one too many
'FAT' pictures of myself, sick of being
limited to wearing clothes primarily
comprised of cotton and elastic, fed up with
being tired of feeling alone and isolated,
or a combination of all of these
things...something inside of me finally
clicked! The moment I stopped blaming
everything and everyone else around me, and
started pointing the finger in the right
direction, the real transformation began to
take shape (literally).
This October (2007) will be the seven year
mark since I started working out, losing
100 lbs. in the process (while gaining
so much more than I ever thought possible).
What many had (and sometimes still do)
called obsessive behavior I deemed
'necessary measures' in order to reach my
goals. With summer just around the corner
why not finally stop making excuses, and
start using all of the negative, wasted
energy toward reaching your goals and
holding yourself accountable...really
accountable!
Who's kidding who...it's actually pretty
simple when it's broken down and put in
front of us in simplest terms...when it
comes down to it, the only one person
stopping any of us from reaching any of our
goals in life is ourself!
Here's to
reaching the goal!
